Introduction to Pottery Beginner's Class. No prior experience necessary. Age 15yrs +, kids under 15 yrs are welcome as long as their parent sign up for the class too.
Fee includes 4-two hour long instructional class, 5th week class as free studio time , clay, a tool kit, food safe glazes, Bisque and glaze firing in our on-site kiln.
We meet once a week for 5 weeks. Fifth class is to pick up your work. You may continue to work during the fifth week as a studio member or just to finish up your project.
In this four weeks we will cover two techniques:
1)Pottery wheel - week 1 and 2
2)Hand building week 3
3)Different glazing techniques - week 4
Last class will focus on glazing the bisque-ware. All the glazed items need to be fired one more time before you get to take them home.
please bring your apron that you don't mind getting clay on.
Just fyi:
-long nails might pose a challenge while throwing on the wheel.
- Bring along a hair tie in case you have long hair.
