Age group: 5 years and up
Introduction to Pottery Beginner's Class. No prior experience necessary.
Fee includes 4-two hour long instructional class, 5th week class as free studio time ,m. Fee includes clay, necessary tool, food safe glazes, Bisque and glaze firing in our on-site kiln.
We meet once a week for 5 weeks. Fifth class is to pick up your work. You may continue to work during the fifth week as a studio member or just to finish up your project.
In this four weeks we will cover these techniques:
1)Hand building : pinch pot technique, bowls
2)Hand building : coil pot techniques, slump or hump technique
3) Hand building: slab roller, platter with slumping technique
4) Different glazing techniques
5) continue to finish glazing your projects.
Last class will focus on glazing the bisque-ware. All the glazed items need to be fired one more time before you get to take them home.
please bring your apron that you don't mind getting clay on.
